Taught by Ishbel Rodriguez, this 2 hour workshop will be on Sunday, from 10:00am-12:00pm.

A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY
Ishbel is an artist working from within Chicago, graduated from SAIC (2020), with a BFA in Painting and Printmedia Studies. She’s Latina, she loves paper, and oil-based ink, and any tool possible --formulated or not—for producing marks on paper. She is a craftsman at heart.

A BRIEF WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Collage: “Derived from the French verb coller, meaning “to glue,” collage refers to both the technique and the resulting work of art in which fragments of paper and other materials are arranged and glued or otherwise affixed to a supporting surface,” (MoMA.org).

Available to you within this session will be:

A.) Random pieces of magazines, old books, bad books, newspaper leftovers, coupon guides, and everything in between (i.e. “ephemera”),

B.) Interesting and unique tools, with which to rearrange, demarcate, delineate, deface, inscribe, remember, illustrate, commemorate, reproduce, reinvigorate as a means to produce your own collage, and

C.) Engagement with your peer’s works through an interactive, lively group setting. The idea is to make things quickly, get to the heart of the matter.

Hope to see you there!
